In the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the state association of Buckfastimker Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania e.V. (LBMV) is the only recognized Buckfast breeding association and a member of the Association of European Buckfastimker e.V (GdeB) We have represented the interests of Buckfast beekeepers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MV) since 1997. According to our current statutes, the members come from our state. But we are also open to Buckfast friends in the neighboring areas. Working exclusively as a breeding association at the federal state level, local associations or affiliated clubs do not have or need them. In the breeding work we follow the strict rules of the community of European Buckfast beekeepers e.V. Our endeavors are primarily aimed at active breeding work. Internally, we maintain the exchange of ideas among Buckfast beekeepers and operate several Buckfast registration offices that are open to all of our members. Externally, we represent the interests of our breeding direction, e.g. towards the state government, beekeeping is a state matter. We faithfully follow Brother Adam’s suggestion: Breeding further development of bees without ideological and racial boundaries. The association operates a mating station on the island of Greifswalder Oie [oie], the mating stations on the island of Rügen – Gelm [glm] and Mönchgut [mgt]. We invite all breeders of the Buckfast bee to use the advantages in breeding through our mating facilities. We would like to be your partner in all matters relating to the breeding and keeping of Buckfast bees in north-east Germany.
